You probably know that gum disease can cause serious problems, but do you ever wonder what you can do if you have this issue? Fortunately, there are a few things you can do. Sadly. while severe instance of gum disease could require surgical help, most cases won’t.

Of course, wouldn’t you rather prevent gum disease altogether? If so, we have good news for you: there isn’t much you have to do. In fact, all you’ll have to do is brush twice a day for two minutes at a time, floss at least once every day, and visit your dentist for a checkup every six months.

However, if you have gum disease, you may need scaling and root planing. This process involves cleaning plaque from beneath your gums and from your teeth and can prevent gum disease.
